Client testimony

I am very grateful to have received postpartum care & lactation support from Fatima. She has such a gentle and caring energy and provides so much wisdom and resources! I always felt so safe and supported during our visits. I appreciate all the ongoing guidance, it was all exactly what I was calling in. May she be blessed for the work & services she provides!.”

Client testimony

I did not work with a doula after my first birth, but I knew my second time around I could really benefit from postpartum support. I did a lot of research into finding someone who met my criteria for someone I wanted to work with: POC, queer friendly, and culturally competent I don’t have a close relationship with my family of origin, but I know historically how important taking care of the body is after you have a child, so Fatima went above and beyond my expectations. From the delicious food she prepared, to the ceremonies of the bath and body work we did follow it, to the small touches like bringing a bouquet of flowers, she showed up in ways I truly appreciated and needed. Thank you Fatima! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone needing full spectrum of reproductive support!.”

Client testimony

“Most amazing experience ever ! I would of not been able to make it through by birth without Fatima ! Hands down best thing I did was get Fatima as my doula! She is caring and very knowledgeable! Words can’t explain how amazing she truly is!”

About Fatima

Fatima Chavez Lopez(she/they) is a first-generation Chicana from Oxnard, California. Fatima attended California State University, Long Beach and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology. She first started on this path in 2014 working with traditional plant medicine and after several years of studying, she developed an interest in womb health. She then completed her doula training in 2019 with Birthworkers of Color based in Long Beach. Since becoming a doula she has completed various trainings and workshops led by Indigenous and POC educators that have their work rooted in traditional practices and medicine. Through the University of California San Diego's Extension Program, Fatima completed the Lactation Educator and Counselor certification program in December 2019.

Fatima believes we know our body best and that we are guided by intuition, informed decisions, and consent. She believes through that wisdom we can make the best decisions about our body and health. She approaches care through a trauma informed lens and centers the individual and their needs first. Her doula work is rooted in Traditional Mexican medicine that is constantly evolving with teachings from her mother and mentors.

I am currently taking clients and open to doing calls, video chat, or in person visits. I am currently serving Ventura County but virtual support beyond Ventura County is accepted.

Please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time!
